Toyota has announced the recall of 2.87 million units of the RAV4 sold worldwide after discovering a problem in the rear seat belts a few hours ago.
Apparently the problem has been detected after an accident in which he injured a rear passenger RAV4. The recall of the units also occurs after the department specializing in traffic safety in Canada advirtiese of damage in the belts while performing a crash test.
Among the units called to review include the RAV4 produced between July 2005 and August 2014 and the Vanguard produced between October 2005 and January 2016 (sold in Japan).

The automaker has said that the solution is to apply a resin frames base metal seats that do not cut the belt in an accident.
This problem with the seat belt poses a risk to the image that the RAV4 has in the US market (As best-selling SUV). This problem also means a major revision calls (safety) Toyota has done in its history.
